I got the itch...

Loved my 250R, thought I would never get rid of it. Kept breaking things after I put the big bore on it. Got tired of that and in Nov of 06 got the YFZ and shortly thereafter sold the 250R.

Well, I love my YFZ, but man I missed that 2 stroke power and the light and nimble 250R. Sweet bikes. Found a stock engine 88 last weekend for a good price and had to have it.

Will keep the YFZ and that will be my bike to race the hill with. The 250R will stay stock with just pipe and filte- awesome Duner just not quite there to race the hill..

Good to have an R back in the garage.

A 1989 R that the 1st thing to go out on it was the rear end bearing in Dec of 2005 hardly sounds like a lemon...

Lost a wrist pin bearing... took out top end.

Lost a main bearing- took out top and bottom end.

Grendaded 2nd gear into 40 pieces...

Maybe you just dont ride it hard enough :D

or maybe I built mine the right way... Food for thought. Im sure you know what you are doing, just bad stroke of luck. either way the r is a badass Wheeler that takes alot of abuse. So don't give up on modding it Don't go to much either.
