I put a Lexx Mxe slip on exhaust on my 02 400ex and when i jump it hits the brake caliper and now there is a dent in the side. Does anyone know why this is?

sounds like your bottoming out the rear shock? adjust it then see how it is?

Maybe its blown? How hard is it to compress the rear shock completely? Did any fluid come out of it?

I think it's just the R&D department being lazy. My Big Gun did the same thing when I bought it after they first came out. Then I traded it in for a new one after they updated them and it still hits the caliper. I'm not sure if the new sideways oval style will hit but I don't feel like spending more money to find out. Just try not to bottom out too much, or spend the money and revalve your shock. I doubt you could put a spacer behind it without having to bend the back of the header where it wraps through your frame.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the reason I traded my old one in for a new one is because the old one finally gave up and it snapped the welds on the mount and cracked at the back of the silencer where the header forms into the silencer.

Your best bet.... Dual rate rear shock

400's will bottom out all day.

I am pretty sure on the newer 400's they made a little groove in the stock exhaust because people were doing the same thing

If it's not the sideways oval style then I gurantee it will. Unless they really changed them since I last saw them.
