I bought a 2008 Polaris Phoenix 200 for my wife and son. The seller said it was barely used and had been sitting for nearly a year (checked the air filter when I bought it and it looked brand new...) He had also not done any maintenance to it. I thought I would drain the gas and change the fluids. After draining the gas and refilling I added Polaris Carbon Clean Fuel Treatment. Then I changed the oil. I drained the tranny and the fluid was golden and about the consistency of oil. The Polaris AGL Plus fluid (Part # 2878068) called for in the manual and verified at my local shop is purplish and much thinner than the fluid I drained out (more like ATF fluid). No problems running now or riding in my backyard but I haven't really taken it out yet, but I am going for a ride this weekend in Hollister Hills, CA.

Does this sound like a problem to anyone that the new fluid had such a difference in appearance and viscosity than what I drained out of the transmission?

Anything else anyone recommends I do to the quad since it has been sitting this long? After putting fresh gas in it ran great with no missing, knocking, or backfiring. Recommendations???
