my 440ex is leakin fuel out of the tube on the bottom. at full throttle the bike runs super fast and pulls hard. i have the stock pilot and a 50, 52, and 55. but no matter which one i put in it runs about the same. it kinda pops and jerks forward and back at 1/4 to mid throttle.

i would concentrate on getting the leak to stop first then tune the carb.

it sounds like your float might be getting snagged up and wont move the needle jet freely but it is hard to say. I even got a new bowl for mine trying to get my 450r carb to stop, finally after taking it apart a few times i got it cleaned out and freed up enough to stop.

after you get it to stop leaking then tune the carb. it wont get enough gas if it is leaking out, causing it to run poor.

i was able to stop the leaking but im still having problems at 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. its not backfiring really loud but it just kinda pops while crusing around. i have a 55 pilot in it right now turned almost all the way out on the a/f screw.

1/4 to 3/4 is your needle circuit not your pilot circuit. go to the second notch on on your needle instead of the the third notch.

go back to your 52 pilot and go 2.5 turns out on the f/a screw.
