Stripped bolts.....

Well... i was lookin over my wheeler... and noticed that there was oil seeping out between the rocker cover and the cylinder head... then i noticed the bolt on that corner had backed out a bit... So i went and grabed a wrench to snug it up... No luck... it seems to be stripped out on the inside... Now i'm not sure what to do... can i just tap it and put a bigger size bolt? or is there somethign else i should do???? the bolt is on the front right side of the engine... it's a 8mm...

Please help...

its a very common problem I used helicoils and there strong as can be but you can retap for a 1/4 bolt but if it strips your screwed check this thread out

i bought a 400ex with the same problem. i just heli coiled it and it runs perfect. we also broke a bolt taking it apart so be carefull. i got lucky and could get a wrench on it tho. good luck.

I have the same problem. I'm gunna what until this winter when I tear it apart to fix that and a few other odds and ends.
