A 2001 cr stator swap setup better than the later model years?
Shouldn't any later model digital setup perform the same?

I believe the later models have more electrical crap on them that is un-needed on the 250r. Something to do with the PV I think.

99-01 are the years you want 2001 being the best, alot of r&d was done ahead of this

I can't find the thread so I can't give you specific details, but not all CR ignitions are the same. Some year after 2001 (it might have been 2002, or it might have been later) the ignition system had some major changes. The location of the pickup coil changed, so the common adapter plates designed for the 2001 ignition won't work.

Sure, it could be done, but it takes a LOT of R&D to adapt an ignition system. I can't see a company spending a bunch of money on R&D when there is already an easily-available option with the 2001 setup.

just from memory 02 and up went to electronic controlled power valve, so you have to have someone remap the CDI box to remove this function or it doesn't run right.

99-2001 is best, 2001 CDI has best ignition curve
