kenwood radio help!!

okay so i just put in a new kenwood radio in my 91 ford ranger xlt, i bought a adapter to hook it up, got it all hooked up and it works fine.. but when you get going down the rd and hit a bump it throws it off then the radio flashes "protect" across the screen and then for it to do anything u have to reset it.. any ideas whats wrong? whats protect mean?

Check your wiring, that normally means an electrical surge. You might have apartial connection that is sparking.
