I have two 10in kenwoods behind the seat of my regular cab 84 chevy, and its sounds pretty good. Its not super loud but still sounds nice. I listen to a lot of rock and some country so they are a little bass heavy for me but if you keep the bass low and turn my loud on low it sounds awesome. And thats the only speakers i have in the whole truck but you can hear them over a screaming small block with just glasspacks.
And there powered by a cheap walmart pioneer i got on sale for $65 that came with 4 speakers

Im not sure how much they would run if you bought them i think they are an older set i have seen some on CL similar but non ever had prices.

A good quality 10" sub is all you really need.

i have one 10" kicker in my truck with 2 JL audio fronts, and stock rears. pioneer head unit (nothing special). it sounds exceptionally well for what it is. the single 10" works perfect for me.

What is "cheap"? That would help out :p

Are you talking headunit, speakers, amp, and sub? Or just a sub and amp?

Just sub and amp. Under 200 used.

Well cant really help you with used. All I can say is check craigslist or ebay. Id say a single 10". $200 isnt much to work with. Remember your going to need a box and wiring too. I would recommend saving up some more money then get something.

I've got an 80 dollar wiring kit, 200 dollar sony wal mart cd player, a no name 300W amp for $50, and a 10" clarion sub in a clarion ported box $ 450 i believe. with the stock stereo speaker set with bass almost completly off and a low pass filter on the sub it pounds out all of the bass. you get lots of mid and treble from the stock speakers and they will last a lot longer with the bass turned down. I've grown out of the need to blow windows out of my car and a cheap sub system provides all the bass I need while keeping clarity
