what brand and what weight oil do you runn in you 300ex?

im just curious what brand oil most of you are running and what weight im using
valvoline atv 10 /40 with a wix filter
but im thinkin of switchin it up ?

rotella...I use it in everything now.

I also buy the cheap tusk filters from rockymoutainatv. $2.50

I have been running tusk in everything we have off road for several years. When I tare the motors back down I can't tell any difference than when I ran a $12.00 filter. Believe me I have plenty of race motors to keep up and that 10 bucks I save every oil change has more than paid for itself.

I found out about the rotella from recluse....never really thought about it but it's good stuff.

so you say you are more into protection why would you buy a $12.00 filter and then put in $3 oil? Don't make much since...I would never run conventional oil with a air cooled motor and wet clutch...it's gonna fome up and break down.

I run either castorl 4 stroke oil or the valvoline 4 stroke oil from auto zone or o'reilly's. Also 20-50 in summer and 10-40 in winter. Never had any problems. If I had a expensive motor built i'd prolly run alil different oil. Prolly what the engine builder recomm.
