Well, since I'm unable to find anyone local with a 250r to test my 3 stock cdi boxes, I thought I'd reach out to some reputable members on here.

I have three HB9-CF552 boxes that I would like to get checked on a running bike. All someone needs to do is plug them in and tell me if they fire your bike. I could ship them in a first-class flat rate box and include a money order to cover the cost of sending them back the same way. Please let me know openly here on this thread if you are interested. Thank you.

I have a 86 and an 89 r and both are using the Ha2 cf502 box on them. I found a Hb9 cf552 box and half wiring and the wires are the same so I put it on my 89 and it starts. I can't ride them now but I can try it another day. I had noticed that the Ha2 cf502 box is a smaller size than the Hb9 cf552 box. iam located on southern New Jersey. I could try your 3 boxes.

Thanks for the replys guys. Brokenmike, my hb9-cf552 boxes are the oe cdi for your 89 model. I just need to know if your bike gets spark with them installed because mine gets nothing. PM me your address info and I'll get them sent out to you. Thanks.

most of the time its the stator that is bad not the cdi, my build has seen tons of the stators just up and dying for no reason last couple of years.

check for corrosion under the flywheel on the pickup

Yeah, I've had banshee stators go out without warning. My stock 250r stator checked good, but I thought the pickup ground might be bad. So I got a brand new Electrosport stator and pickup for it, and still no spark after installing that.

I sent my 3 stock cdi boxes out to brokenmike in NJ. Soon, he will let me know if any of them work and that should lead me to getting my 250r straightened out. Mike, pm sent with shipping details.

Thanks to brokenmike for testing my CDI boxes. He confirmed that all 3 of my OEM boxes are good and working. So the "no spark saga" of my 250r continues.

Has anyone ever had a flywheel go bad? What are the symptoms? I ask because that's the only electrical part on my bike that has been replaced yet.

my stator tested good, but was actually bad. it started running intermittently then one day just quit. a new one on it and it fired right up and still runs good.
