I have been wanting a 250 r for a long time now! I finally found one and it turns out it used to be owned by a friend of mine I used to race with here in Texas. I am really happy to have it! I will keep it forever! It has a 265 in it now but I plan on putting a 310 or 330 in it a few years down the road.

Here are some of the specs on it, LSR arms, PEP shocks, LSR swing arm. It has the stock frame in it for now.

I cant wait to take it out to the track!

Yes I do. My name is Austin Wilson I normally run the number 808 but I have been running 12 this season on my white and green 450. I have new graphics coming for my 450 and the 250 now to get 808 back on my bikes :)

I kind of like the flat color that the pipe has, you always see chrome pipes.

Nice find.

I don't suppose you'd want to help the rest of us out that are wanting you shroud and louvre and take the louvre off and take some pictures of it?

The shroud looks to be RTC, but not sure on the Louvre. If it is, it would really help Laeger400 on his design.

I can pull it apart tonight and take some pics. I Kind of want to dig into the quad a little bit more to check everything out anyways.

anyone have any idea what year model it might be by looking at it? I forgot to ask the guy I bought it from lol. I know one of the numbers on the vin of the frame say the year model if anyone knows which on it might be in the sequence

well since the motor isnt black, Im guessing 89. but could have been a motor swap.

89s have holes in the rear lower subframe rail for mounting heal guards

88-89's both came with black cases and covers, its obvious this bikes side covers have been stripped to bare aluminum. And yes you could look for the mounting holes on the down tubes of the subframe where the factory heel guards would have bolted up, which only came on the 89 model. Pic isnt up close enough to tell... and it almost looks like this bike may have an aftermarket removeable sub-frame, but it may just be the black color makin the subframe look round tubed when I tried zooming in to look for heel guard mounts...

Yes...please take some close up pictures of both the shrouds and the louvers from several different angles. If you could take those and post them on the thread titled RTC REPLICA SHROUDS it would really help Laeger400 with his endeavor of trying to duplicate the RTC SHROUDS for some of us.

Congrats on the quad too. It looks nice and clean!

posted up some pics for you guys on that RTC thread!

I have some questions for you R experts.

My rear brake reservoir if just hanging on my subframe with a zip tie right now. I saw that ESR sells a brake reservoir mount, I called today to order it but he needed to know if I had a center mount exhaust with the bracket to mount the reservoir to.

http://txatvracing.com/files/2011/08/exhaust1.jpg

The pipe coming out of the motor will not mount up to the motor mount, is there a bracket I can purchase to have these mount up?

http://txatvracing.com/files/2011/08/pipe.jpg

The motor shoots out a good bit of oil out of the front, will this help fix it?
http://www.eddie-sanders-racing.com/product_p/billet%20exhaust%20flange.htm

Also the air filter does not have an air box which is ok, but it is also hanging on by a zip tie. I am going to purchase the ESR air box eliminator kit.

thanks for all the advice!

I would keep that air filter set up you have now.
I had to modify my esr filter kit to make it fit, and super pita to install. The ESR exhaust flange is very good though, does not leak at all. Your exhaust is not a center mount and you will have to make up a bracket for your pipe.
Hope this helps

I just dont think I can trust my air filter to stay on with a zip tie! you can see it in the background of one of the pics I posted. I ride pretty aggressive and I dont see that filter staying on long like that!

You need an exhaust bracket on the pipe to mount it by the water pump. Depending how far away it is, you may need a spacer also.

You may just need a new o-ring for the oil leak.

I am going to be selling the wheels and tires if anyone wants them! The rims look brand new and the tires are almost new as well.\

you don't have a center mount pipe,
look on ebay for 250r pipe mount brackets there are 3 of them on a stock pipe looks like you don't need the rear stock one.

the res mount is good but do realize that it is made for a square frame where are yours is round expect to either have to put rubber in it or drill it out to be a tad larger

the air box eliminator kit you posted is for a yfz450
this is the style i use on my dune bikes

the person that makes these stopped producing them. I've asked for info on who made em so i could get more made and got no response.

yes i bought it and no you can't have it =)

and the billet exhaust flange i run oringd ones on all my bikes make sure to get extra o rings

It looks like you have an interesting machine.

The subframe looks to be a homemade piece that was added after the fact to a stock frame. The rear shock looks to be a PEP nolink that is on a stock LSR or Laeger swingarm. LSR did have setups like that, but they were better in a more vertical position.

Interesting.

QuadR8cer12

It should be all LSR components, as for the subframe it could have been made by our local fabricator for the TQRA series. He is also the one that designed the Extreme Mini pit bike atv's in its original stages a long time ago. Its a pretty nice subframe.
