Does your header turn a blue-ish color??

If so, is there anything you can do to change it, or prevent it?

what kind of exhaust are you running? I have the sparks x-6 and it hasnt changed colors but i know my stock head pipe did. I have heard that it could be caused by running too lean too.

I've got Big Gun "Race" on the 250, but I'm wandering once I put the CT System of the 400 is the header gonna turn blue, and can I do nething to prevent it?

You are too lean if the header is turning blue.

Did you change the jetting?? What about the air filter? Did you vent the air box or change to a K & N filter?

Either way, if you added a pipe and the header is turning blue then it's running too lean and you need to jet up.

I thought it was from the heat that made it change colors:devil

It is from the heat. Running lean causes your quad to run hotter.

My header turns bluish purlpe too. I dont think there is anything wrong with that though. my jetting is righton, maybe a hair rich, but it does not glow or turn red. If it turns red then its runnin too hot.:bandit:

My Powerbomb turned blue then brown over time. The only way around it is to have it coated. Rico did his. ;)

Get a ceramic coated header and it wont change color. When I got my LRD I paid $30 more for the ceramic coated version, but its worth it.

if your jetting is 100% accurate your header pipe will still change colors..you have to get it coated to prevent this...:D

So there really isn't any way to prevent a color change unless you order a ceramic type of head pipe?

And, what if they dont carry a ceramic header, do you have it coated?

Well sparks pipes are ceramic coated and people are saying theirs changed colors so i guess you will still need to get it coated no matter what unless it comes with a really good job on it already. I'm probably gonna have myne done because of rust. I have only had it for a month and only been ridden on like 4 times and it is already rusting. That is kinda crappy if you ask me.
