I think once they become that modified, the actual make doesnt matter anymore, just a body on a frame.

or it was a set up by ford fans. It wouldn't be the first time!
Unless you were there and knew all the details then there no way to tell what is the real truth.

The Chevy could have been damaged from another incident.

I would say the exact opposite, depending how detail-oriented you are with the modifications. The extreme cases are when it makes the MOST difference, because this is where you start to find weak points in the frame, suspension, motor mounts, steering components, ect ect.

This particular case there isn't a whole lot of steering going on, but you can imagine a mud-bog race or maybe rock climbing obstacle course, a difference in the steering geometry could make all the difference in the world.

That’s if the two trucks had the same mods. The ford may have had the frame beefed up and the Chevy may have been a stock frame.

You can’t make a judgment based only on a video and no details.

Im willing to bet the modified parts are what failed. When designers sit down to design a truck they dont take any consideration into the truck being modified with a 4' lift and 60" tires by some hillbilly. And I drive a Ford

completely agree. if this was two stock trucks and this happened, that would look really bad on chevy. but these are 30 year old trucks built by hillbilly's.

and props to the ford guy, for being a complete retard, and not stopping the pull. he had to be looking in the mirror and seen the other truck was ripped in half. but instead of stopping, he keeps going till he flips the truck and smashes the guy

Its all about traction and who starts pulling first.

In the video who knows what kinda mods they truly did and how well they built it, ive seen more than my fair share of hackjobs that look good until they try and use them lol.

Im a ford guy, but gotta say that chevys do ride a bit nicer and do last just as long if cared for.

Completely agree.
Once you do so many modifications it doesn't really matter anymore.
Personally i think this is about a stupid way to see "Whos trucks better" All this shows is who has more traction. You could have 1100hp but its not gonna do any good if you cant get it to the ground and get traction.

they both had good traction, the chevy started pulling first but once the ford dug down through the grass into the dirt it was all over. the guy in the ford was bouncing way to much to see anything in his mirrors. but he did go way to far....I think he was trying to humilliate his buddy and it worked. I would have been long gone by the time that dude got out of the chevy:mad:

That was great! Hey the chevy looked like he was running rockwells. Anybody who knows knows you just dont bolt them in. Major modifications are made. Maybe he should go back to welding school. It just tore apart. In that case it has nuttin to do with chevy or ford.

You know that guy with the Chevy had to be mad as hell with that guy with the Ford, cause he kept pullin till the axle came out.

But with them big tires on that small axle it don't take much. Them dummy's probably had the stock axle with them big tires on it

Heck yeah, Fords are way better. That's why they put Ford 350 engines into sandrails, all the old musclecars with the Ford 350 engines, and you can find a multitude of kits to put a Ford 350 engine into ANYTHING, entire books have been written about Ford engine swaps into jeeps, toyotas, and even tuner cars.

Oh, wait. No, that's the Chevy 350 I'm thinking of... :blah:

I have to agree about the chevys i mean im a chevy guy thats all we own in my family well other than a ford ranger lol.

But my 84 when i got it could have been a little better, but hard to find any older chevys up here with a near perfect frame.

The frame of mine wasnt the worst part it was a frame cross-member no big deal its all replaced now.

Im not to worried about it breaking in half like the video posted but im sure i will break something before that motor goes. And then ill have a 350 to put in something else.
Chevy has great motors but the 80s frames and bodys could have been better Rust=PITA

Seriously speaking Fords will outlast chevys. Maybe the old 350s were good and modern stuff is ok, but believe it or not if you go down to home depot about 80% of contractors are using fords, service fleets are using fords, etc. Wheel lift tow trucks are almost always fords, landscapers-they got fords, specially the mason dumps and usually old ones that still keep on going and are abused alot. You see the trend? Im speaking from experience.

I maintained and worked for a road service fleet-they had dodges-JUNK fell apart! Chevys were ok but constantly had bad alts (even when buying factory) and starters, one even blew a headgasket. The Fords, they just kept on going, maybe the starter died once or twice, but the truck I drove from 180k till about 260k on now has 350k on it and no issues besides the trans finally went at 300k. They also got one with 400k on it, original trans and engine.

Dont get me wrong a chevy aint bad, but they dont hold up nearly as good as the fords do. I repaired alot more chevys than fords, fords only major issues were the E4OD trans is kinda weak IF you dont change the fluiod (which of course no one ever does, they drive 100k and wonder why it failed and its no trans fluid anymore but rotten burnt crap), older ones with the ttb setup are hard to aling for most shops (they dont know wtf to do with it lol), and the oil pans tend to leak and are a pain to replace.

Want to buy an old ford, expect to pay a good bit tho, they just hold value alot better-want a chevy they practically give them away-thats if you can find one that isnt made up of 80% bondo.

That being said, I got an old F250 sitting and waiting for me to wrench on when I get some cash to repair it. Sitting in an impound yard for 5 years generally causes things to go bad from lack of use.
