anyone seen one done yet? I know there was a z400 with a quadzilla motor over on quadracer hq that never got completed, but i'd like to see one with the 250 motor in it. would be really light and would handle great with plenty of power from the good ol 2stroke.

I have never seen one but seems like a good idea since there is a crap load of them around and you can still pick stuff up for the lt250R.

The Z is a pretty good platform in stock trim and even better with suspension and widened. This idea now has me thinking!!!

Be sure to post pics and progress if you decide to take it on.

An LTR platform would be a much better racer.

The nice thing with the Z400 frame is there are a **** load out there and cheap. You can certainly build one on a z400 frame to get your feet wet.

After seeing that KTM 380 post I want to build somethign like this more and more!

Well i was thinkn the same thing as JoePa. theres tons of cheap z400s out there and they are a good woods bike to begin with. They just need some good two stroke power and having a 250 2t would definetly drop the weight of the quad down considerably

The Z is an excellent quad no doubt and i feel it can hang with the best of the stock framed quads. The geometry is very good on the quad and would make a great MX or woods machine.

I think the only possible issue would be the pipe. If a stock or aftermarket pipe doesn't fit then where do you go to have one made for you?

the pipe would definetly be the trickiest part of the build. I'm not sure who i would use, especially since ftz doesn't seem to want to build 2 stsroke pipes anymore. they arent far from me. there are still some builders out there though..
