View Full Version : Best All Around Use Tire??

Which tire would be the best for hill climbin, jumpin, and drag racin(on gravel)??

I know that I've made a post similar to this a while back, but I'm still having trouble deciding, so help me out.

Also, please include the size of the tire when you post which type.

XCR......beadlocks arn't neccasary unless you race

Is this for a 250ex or 400ex? For a 250ex XCR's would effect the gearing too much. They are alot smaller than stock. For the 400ex they would work fine, but I am more partial to the slightly more open tread pattern of the regular Razr's.

If by jumping you mean on the track and you still are going to ride trails I would reccomend the 4 ply razr's in the 20 inch size for either the 250ex or 400ex.

Also, there is no need for beadlocks unless you have destroyed your stock rims. The stock rims are actually very strong and should hold up to whatever you put them through.

20' rear fasttrekkers are awesome, hook up real good, and are cheaper than most other tires. Plus u can reverse them for better grip in loose stuff!:macho

Well I have a set of 20/11/9 6 ply razr rears on my 300ex and I love them.I have riden on everything from blacktop to the mudiest trails I could find.Even in sand.And they work awesome everywhere.I have had one flat in the last year.And I have had the tires for a year and they still have tread.I love these tires and besides the holeshot mx's I always run on my R they will will be the only tire I buy.

I ordered a set of 22/7/10 6 ply razr's a week ago and still aven't got them.This sucks!I am hoping for tommorow.

If you want more axceleration(sp?), get the 20's, but you will lose some top speed.

If you want more speed, but not good hillclimbing get the 22's.


I personally like the 20's

Depends how you ride.. you cant take a holeshot tire or maxxis tire and expect to rip around TT'ing...

Would you guys get 4, or 6 ply? I currently have 4, but I'm just wandering if a heavier tire would be better for the riden I do.

If you are rqacing you want a lighter rear tire and ecpsecially since its not likely your going to pop it.. if u trail ride and stuff go for 6 ply
