Thanks guys. they keep the rated spring tension far better then the stock, the heat transmitted to the springs causes them to loose the ability to apply even pressure, the Tokyo mode are treated to handle the heat transfer much better,

if you can find any dark synergy get them if not the Tokyo ones aren't bad at all

Never had any issues running stock springs on 55hp bikes...:o

a clutch depends on how you ride the quad. I done alot of hard clutching out of sharp turns on a 50+ hp quad and i was smoking clutches. I went with stock plates and CR500 springs. Im not saying it was bulletproof but held up better than i had

stock springs do work to a point but you might actually have some slippage with them and not know it. also if you use your clutch alot it creates massive heat and stock springs cant handle that. i put the tokyo mods springs in my 250f and they worked great, im gonna get them for my 450 when i odered my new clutch parts

Go with the springs that come with whatever clutch kit you get like Hinson, Barnett, Curtis sparks, or O.E.M.

doesnt really help to just put stock springs back in, springs arent matched to the friction material or anything, that is pretty pointless. barnett springs and junk, just stock replacements that give a hard lever pull.

i love my barnett clutch!
why do you say they are junkkk????

I meant, use the O.E.M. springs if you bought the O.E.M. clutch plates and frictions.

Matter fact, over half of all the pro's are running O.E.M. clutch kits this year. because of they last longer so they don't have to change them after every moto.

Whats wrong with Barnett? I have ran them in all my race bikes, never had a problem with them.

The last Barnett dirt digger kit I bought was over 2 years ago and is still in my race bike till this day never had a problem with it.

Curtis Sparks makes a pretty mean clutch kit too.

No doubt! The Tokyo Mod, as well as the Dark Synergy springs are made from heat resistant material. All other brands, including the CR500 springs will fail over time. They are a must, for optimum, high torque engine performance.

again I ask why not use the better dark synergy or Tokyo mods?

I have no problem with the friction being oem, get rid of the judder springs.. but why loose performance with lesser springs?

with heavy use the oem springs will cause the clutch to fade when hot , wouldnt you want to have all the power to put to the ground?

I heard that Dark Synergy went out of buisness a while back. Not sure if they changed their company name or just went out of buisness.

I know Harold Goodman still runs their clutch springs in his bike.

I checked out that Tokyo Mods a while back they got some pretty good products, I know Joe Byrd is sponsored by them.

Oh yeah what about Rekluse clutches has anyone ever tried them out yet?

i only said that the barnett springs were junk, they just add lever pull, they are not heat resistant and they dont work nearly as good as the tokyo mod springs do. I agree OEM clutch's work really good, but there is a ton of room for improvement in the springs.
