I posted a pic of the head cover i polished on another site.I somebody said that polishing would take away the cooling effect of the motor.Is this true? i cant see how.Plus he never has anything positave to say towards me. Is he just flapping at the jaw or is he right?

i dont see how polishing could remove any cooling properties from the head:confused2 maybe they were assuming you had it chromed?


and ive learned just to ignore the naysayers......99% of their rehtoric BS stems from jealousy...so keep doin what makes YOU happy and just piss them off that much more:devious:

He said polishing will do that.I just cant see how either Pappy.He came up and rode with us one time.And got lit up by bees.about 20-25 stings LOL.Plus we ride on some land thats posted but have gotten permission to ride.And every seince then he has had nothing but bad things to say about me and my friends.Plus he thinks he's the know it all of quads.Just wanted to ask for another view on it.

polishing might actually help cooling,
A) your not changing the make-up of the metal
B) your making it so the air and glide over the metal easier and by polishing it you helping all the gunk that would hurt heating like mud slide off and keeping the engine clean. thus helping improve cooling.

I just checked the other site.LMAO get this he said the paint on the cover wasn't smooth(there is no pait on the cover) and would allow it to cool better than a smooth surface.What a maroon!LOL

do you think you could post a pic of he polished head i was thinking of doing it with this extra head i got just to see how it would come out....... did you use mothers??

I think a rough surface woould cool better than polished because there is more surface area for the air to hit, but i don't think it would be very noticeable.

Look at the thread "Should I" ive posted before and after pics there.I wouldnt even think about tring it with just mothers.But i did clean it up with mothers
The surface was pretty smooth to start with.I didnt sand it at all and it still came out pretty good.Really all i did was shine it up.

non-polished does have more surface area but you can't see it without a magnifying glass, its all not-noticable anyways.

get an accurate heat tester difference will prolly be like .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000005
