Keep in mind this whole thing occured at about 10 'o clock at night earlier.

Okay, I sent my Eliminator 2+2 axle off about 3 weeks ago to get straightned after it got alittle tweaked landing on one wheel. Well I figured it would be back by now and it still isn't.

Now there is a poker run going on this weekend that a couple of my friends are going to and I wanted to join in. Well I found an old axle I had in the shop and threw it in to see if it was bent or anything and took it for a ride down the road. Everything seemed ok. Well I went to put it up in the garage and was goin down the driveway about 3rd gear half throttle and all of a sudden my left tire snapped off and I started scrappin the skid for about 100 foot along the driveway. I couldn't see what happened at first so I pushed it back to the shop and this is what I saw.

Now at first I just started laughing because it was the funniest thing I ever saw looking at my 3 wheeler. But if it had happened 2 or 3 minutes earlier I would've been taking a dirt nap on a gravel road going about 65mph. And I still haven't found the left tire or axle end either, it must've shot off into the bean field by my house because it wasn't anywhere I could see with my trucks headlights.

Hope you enjoyed the story!:D

Holy crap you are lucky. I've seen hubs snap but never seen an axle snap like that. Good luck finding the other half and hope it didn't hurt your rim.

Wow. You got lucky. Awhile back I was at the office and a guy had just left and as he backed out of the parking lot his lower ball joint on his 3/4 ton chevy let go and his truck slammed to the ground. He came in all pissed, and I was like, "you were doing 65mph down the highway on the way here and it decided to let go when you were rolling at .5mph. I'd say you got real lucky". His tone definately changed.

It says a lot about a person that snaps an axle like you did an immediately sees how much worse it could have been. Kudos to you. And yes, you have some thanking to do before bed tonight.

Well I went out earlier and found the other tire and and the piece of axle bolted to it. It was about 500 foot off to the right hand side of the driveway from where it broke, even though it was the left side that snapped. Odd  I already got it torn back apart waiting for my axle, again. I could probably tear that thing apart in my sleep by now. Here's some more pics!

does that void the warranty? haha

Actually that was a "Heavy Duty" axle. I have no idea why they call it that when it's not as strong as their other axles. But it had a warranty against bending or breaking for the first 6 months after purchase which was about 6 years ago. lol

You should send them a pic and tell them that this pos only lasted me 6 years. Lol

Well that was a Durablue Heavy Duty axle, like I said before, and they aren't made for jumping, it even says it in the ad for them on websites and such. Well I didn't see that when I bought it new and I jump ALOT, so it eventually bent and I pressed it back with a 30 ton bottle jack press and rode on it maybe 2 times after that then bought an eliminator and threw it on a shelf. So I'm assuming it just lost all its strength when I pressed it back.

Other than that Heavy Duty which bent(which was inevitable), and this Eliminator bending just a hair after coming down on one wheel from 10-15 foot in the air(which is actually amazing), that's the only problems I've had with Durablue. So until I start snapping them or bending them every year, I'll stick with Durablue.

you should get a g-force.. lifetime warranty.. never hear things like that happening with them. one of these times its gonna be fatal. or get a lsr or rpm

I was wondering to myself how you could not see what happened and how you couldn't find the rest of it. Then you said something about it being dark and I was like oooohhhhh

I have had no other problems with Durablue other than those 2 issues, and it was just a question of when it was gunna happen the way I always and when I jump. My friend had a G-force on his 450R. He came up short and landed on the backside of the landing on a tiny little 30ft. double I built that had a 1 foot tall landing(if that) and he bent it so bad it looked like a pretzel(that might be alittle over the top, but you get what I'm saying). Those things are a joke.

rpm or lsr?

If I bend this Durablue again I'll probably ask them to send a replacement or a refund. Then I'll get an LSR. It's been over a month since I sent that damn thing off and it still hasn't even been sent back from Durablue yet, it's still at the straightener. I about when crazy on the phone with one of the reps when he told me that.
