Changed my front rims out to douglas wheels. The douglas wheels do not have that countersunk hole. Do my stock lug nuts go on backwards or the taperd part go towards the rim. They are towards the rim now, but i am thinking they may oblong that hole with all the stress and pressure. What are you guys doing.

On my old 250R I just put the nuts on backwards, with the tapered part out. I had no problems with them like that either so you'd be fine.

I seen an ad somewhere that had what were called flange nuts. They had a lip machined into one end of the nut, with a urethane or hard plastic washer that fit around the flange which would protect the rim when tightened down. That sounded like a pretty good idea, but a washer with the stock lug nuts should do the same thing.

A friend of myne put them on with the tappered side in and they ended up digging into the rim and he couldnt get them off. I flipped myne and had no problems.

Just flip them around, if you dont they will pinch really bad on the stud and you will have a heck of a time getting the wheel off.

with the douglas you flip the nut and put a washer in between it and the wheel, other wise it mashes the aluminum and then you cant get your wheel off easily.:(

Thanks guys I just turned the nuts around. I did add washers. Have to keep an eye on them or remove them?

Washers are bad.... I learned that the hard way... Its real depressing watching your wheel go out infront of you faster than you were going as your skidding across the ground.
