the 2005 is the 42mm right? This will be good with a 426 big bore kit on the 400ex? Is there anything needed that dont come with the carb to work on the 400ex? I knwo the choke has to be removed and think I seen somewhere that it needs the 450r throttle cable??

Carb is sold. You would have needed a 450R throttle cable and an adaptor. I personally used a ZRPilot adaptor when I installed one on my old 400EX.

it was exactly what my 426 build needed when i bought one. used the 450R cable, made my own choke lever, and didn't use any adapter.
