I noticed the quad is smoking just a small bit. The only time it dOes it is when you hit rev limited then let off it will puff a few. What are the possible problems. I already plan on a new top end and valves. What else could it be? Thanks!

And also what service manual is recommended for a 400 and where can I get one.

Honda manual can be found for free as well on google.

If it smokes check compression, 100-128psi is normal

Then its ok for now, could just be some valve seal leakage or sometimes your running a bit rich and it looks like blue smoke when infact its black.

It is black smoke and I just went from a 152.5 to a 155 main.

No indications of running rich on the plug though, It was a nice light brown and dry.

If your not losing oil, comp tests fine and the plug looks ok Id leave it alone for now.
