Anyone use them, if so are they durable? Which do you prefer

Aluminum sprockets are just barely strong enough, but they are indeed strong enough. Therefore steel, being much stronger, is almost over-kill. Either brand will certainly work for you.

AL aint worth it, wears down to quick. Ive used JT, Pro-taper, Renthal and a few others. Never had any issues with a steel sprocket. I tend to replace them every year or so just cause.

Stick to steel at less your some crazy racer looking for any little advantage. I use JT steel they seem to last long as a stock sprocket if not longer.

I understand aluminum is not worth it unless on a bike. I went ahead and just got a primary drive steel sprocket and chain kit.

I race in the Extreme Dirt Track Nationals
and have ran JT Steel a long time a have been running the same sprockets since November of 2009 And they are still holding up good not a tooth is bent or broke.

But now on the other hand I tried Moose Aluminum Sprockets and they lasted about a week then had to replace them.
And Aluminum sprockets are so expensive.
