We all know the common stuff like the 450r shocks, oil cooler mods, 450r carb, choke removal, rons cool tool holder locations, and timing key along with the other bolt on stuff. we know what parts bolt on mainly also.

lets try out some new ones, lets hear some ideas on what we can try to do. anyone have anything they want to try out?

id like to custom do a front bumper with a compartment built in it like the prm ones.

maybe a fi setup too using a micro squirt setup and an injector. sled parts coud be used and modified. i have a buddy that did it to a 250r, why not a 400 lol.

Not really DIY, but I got rid of my stock healight/kill switch and got a small one for a bike and wired it in place of the stock one. Bought a kill switch off ebay and wired it up for a starter button on my bars. Also relocated my neutral/reverse lights into the left fender and the key on the opposite fender. Very custom and works great. I can provide links and pics if anyone is curious.

I would like to put thick springs (about the size as the valves springs) underneath my bar clamps and get extended bolts, and see if they work like the precision bar clamps.

You could put little shims in them to adjsut the play in them.
Might have already been done but as far as i am concerned its MY IDEA!!!

Thinking about LED lights, just not in the funds right now. Want to either do a 6-*" lightbar type on the front by the bars or 2 smaller 3-4" square LED setup on the frame or the bars. I mean I dont ride at night to much b/c the 400ex lights suck, dont want HID cause I do like the hi/lo when I do use them and the LEDs draw so little I can run everything at once.

If you want a inexpensive steering stabilizer. Buy a Steering stabilizer for a 1969 VW bug car.
You will have to make a couple of small brackets to mount one on the outside of the front a arms and then the other to the frame.
It works great and only cost about $25.oo.

Ok, here's some pictures of my setup. I didn't really have too much trouble re-routing the wires for the lights or the key. But I did cut about 2 foot of the wiring off the headlight/starter switch harness just so I wouldn't have alot of extra. I just popped the lenses off the lights and held them up to the front of the fender to mark where I would cut the holes. And to do that I used a 5/8" (16mm) hole saw. And I used a 1"(25mm) hole saw for the key and then smoothed the edges out with some sand paper.
Here's the lights:

Headlight/kill switch:It's on the frame under the fender because I do freestyle and don't like alot of clutter on the bars
