What's the difference between a mx and a xc link? can you run mx with a xc link?

yes you can a xc link is usually geared for smaller stuff likke whoops and mx and is for bigger hits.. usually you get more travel on an xc cause you use taller tires there for the frame can go farther down with out hitting the ground.

You can run 18" or 20" tires with the mx link.. The 20" tires simply raise your ride height by 1"

You CAN'T run 18" tires with the XC link because your frame will bottom out. You need 20" or 22" tires to run the XC link.

So if you want an all around link to run with 20" tires, but still want 18" for the occasional trip to the motocross track, you'll need the MX link.

This is completely wrong. You get the same travel for either link, it's just that the extended and compressed lengths of the frame are adjusted for the tire size you're running. And the MX link is usually a little more progressive than the XC linkage.

Talk to any shock builder and they will build a shock with more travel with an xc link. I hope you are having your shock built for the link and not just changing the link.
