Coming up on a complete overhaul on the 400. I'm wondering what wheels to go with. I don't understand the spacing with them either. Should I keep to the stock sizes. And I only do some moderate trail riding so I don't feel I need beadlocks. Suggestions? Also want them black

Thanks y'all

He's not gonna need hipers with tireballs for moderate trail riding. Find a set douglas blue or red label's.

i would get a set of hiper cf1 you can find them for about or less than $500 a set the reinforced wheels are $400 so why not pay 100 more and have beadlocks

I never really priced beads but I always seen high prices. All point was is that you dont really need them for MODERATE trail riding.

Definitaely not going to spend 1300 on hipers and tireballs. Id like to stay at about 450 or below.

Also, are the douglas .19 any good? are they they red or blue label? Thanks

I've heard of a guy out west using pool noodles in his tires instead of tire balls. A lot cheaper.

If you are doing moderate trail riding, I would say you don't NEED rims unless you wanted to make it flashy.

In generic terms:
A 4/1 rim has 4 inches of backspacing, which means there is 4" from the inside edge of the rim to the where the hub makes contact with the rim.

3/2 has 3 inches of back spacing and 2" of front spacing (measuring from the outside edge to where the bolts contact the rim). A 3/2 rim will give you a wider stance, adding nearly 1" on a side. In racing applications, most stay away from a 3/2 rim as it allows for more bumpsteer.

If you google "wheel backspacing," I am sure you can find a diagram to give you the visual.

The doug .190 are red label. Strong. I think like around $85 a pop.
