Armadillo from Rocky Mtn. ATV is THE skidplate for me. I have a witness on this site that saw my 400 hit a rock with the skidplate only that launched the rear about two feet off of the ground, and nothing bent or broke!!!!
I rode lots of extremely rocky areas with 20" tires on the rear. All was good!:D JMO:cool:

Have the A/C chassis and swingarm skids. The chassis skid is their thin (1/8") skid, works really good. The swingarm skid is .190 thick. The chassis skid has held up to rocks and lots of tree stumps and fallen trees. I ride alot of woods and use the skid to help slide over fallen trees. :D The swingarm skid works pretty good, I have bent mine up at the brake rotor and chain side a couple of times.Happens on big rocks hit hard!! If you ride rocky terrain might try one of the thicker swingarm plates. Mine still working good, just have to bend it down occasionally:D
Durablue makes one (swingarm) made of a urethane, supposed to absorb the hit and return to its orriginal shape!!! I might try one of those when mine does break!:D

A friend of mine bought one of those for an LT250r, no kidding it lasted him 25 minutes, it bent on both sides against the rotor and the chain! He now owns an Armadillo and loves it!

Go with the PRM skids....... I haven't had any problems with mine for about 4 years now. Good stuff!

Just get .250 thick in whatever you buy! The .190 just bends too easy. And Locktite those bolts when you put it on.

Actually I'd buy .375 if they made it!

Dura-blue did not hold up at all went through 2 still waiting for the new and improved model. DG or AC didn't cut it either a couple races with my son on the seat and they were shot. So I made one might be a little heavier but no signs of bending yet. I'll let you know after Florida this weekend.

for the swingarm skid plate armadilo all the way. it is .250 aluminum instead of .190 so it is almost twice as strong as the rest. for the rest of the skids prm.

PRM told me, when I bought my chassis glide plate, that they will build a rear skidplate however you want it. Normally they use .190 on the center and .250 on the sides they said.

I've seen desert skidplates up to 1/2" (.500) thick because they actually wear them down to the point they get thin!
