power commander??? cherry bomb????

ok quick question i have an ltr 450 and i was wondering since im goin to put a sparks full exhaust in it, can i just buy a cherry bomb to remap the quads fuel injection or will i need a power commander??? if i get the cherry bomb should i take the airbox lid off with the exhaust or no? and how do those power commander things work? thanks

If all you are going to do is a pipe and filter(lid off) , the cherry bomb will be fine, the powercommander is for those that mod further.
