What is the best shock and link set up with the stock swingarm? Looking to up grade but on a tight budget so I need to use the stock swingarm,

i like the dc-6 lsr linkage with the PEP dual rate zps.
Wayne from PEP said he recomends the lsr and he took part in some of the design.

i think the best set up for the 06 stock swinger would be a baldwin link and any good aftermarket shock. pep,fox, motowoz, these shock guys can set you up with the right technical data in there shock for that link. with a stock swinger only talking about mx racing, in my opinion. if your not racing just having fun try a revalve and a gt link

are you putting the 06+ swinger on a 04-05 quad?

I did that, and had to play with linkages until I got it right. Now i feel i've got a pretty good setup.

I tried;

1: 04-05 GTT MX linkage (05-001) w/ 05 Dogbone & 06Dogbone = Didnt work, frame bottoms.

2: 06+ GTT MX Link (06-003) W/05+ Dogbone = WAY to soft, frame almost bottomed checking ride height

3: 06+ GTT MX Link (06-003) W/06+ Dogbone = Better, Ride height was pretty close, but rear sat too low, bottomed the frame easily. (off jumps/landing)

4: 06+ GTT XC Shorty Link (06-002) W/ 06+Dogbone = Solved every problem I was having. Link accounts for the shorter shock.

I have yet to try the #4 setup on a track, but sag is correct and it doesnt seem like the rear is too low anymore..

I run pretty much the same set-up as Doug does. I love it. Teixeira tech linkage with triple sprung, dual rate (one spring is ZPS) Motowoz shock. Really smooth rear end, provides great traction and bike's very stable.

Another set-up I've got is LSR Outlaw with Motowoz Shock. They work pretty much the same, but it works a bit better in the sand - it's stiffer and you can go faster through big bumps.

You said a tight budget, I'll toss this out there........
Dirtworks link or GTT link with a re-worked rear stock shock.
