Its just the nature of the beast...Most 400's have that noise.

its normal to tick pretty loud? with the hotcam i mean
Very normal, specially with the hotcam.
Mine was rather quiet, then I drowned it in a lake (dont ask!), now I had the topend apart and checked everything to be sure, put it back together and ticks louder.

alright,and im guessing with an 11:1,stage 2 hotcam,and a pipe,airlid on,i think 1000 elevation,i can run a 160 main and a 42 pilot? with 93 gas
Should be able too, might need to do 165-thats where I would start and go down from there.

im gettin both, and a 40 and a 42,trying both, will i need to adjust the fuel air mixture any you think?
Probably gonna have to screw the air/fuel screw in, the bigger pilots gonna richen it up for you now. Id skip the 40 and just do a 42.

Not likely. The valves on these engines tick, just the nature of thier design. Install a hotcam and the valves tick louder b/c of how much the cam lets them open/close and the duration.
Its nothing to worry about.
