I just got a 2nd 400ex, and it has 450r shocks Im only 150 lbs and there way to stiff. I don't race just trail ride. What should I do? get works spring kit or buy stock shocks? What about + 1 aarms would that soften them up? And yes they are adjusted full soft now. Any input?

i think you'd benefit very much from having them resprung/valved. the longer arms would soften them up but i think you'd get better gains with reworked shocks.
Have you tried to remove all the preload-should help the stiffness quite a bit.
If not your gonna hafta have them reworked for you.

and back off compression all the way until you get them modified. not that the compression has much difference from full hard to full soft anyways on stock
Front rebound - slow enough so when your pushing down on the front with you hands it doesn't spring right back at you.

They will also soften up over time just from riding it.

Like I said tho I don't race so I don't want to spend 800 on shocks.. I'm a 30 year old Guy with 2 kids I don't get to ride half as much as I like.. plus my wife would kill me. I see you can get a spring kit for around 300 ? I also have seen used a arm for a good deal .

Used a arms will be the cheapest way to fix them. Plus it will corner better as well. And like I said they will soften over time anyway.

You remove the preload (the two top adjustments with the rings on top of the coil) it will eliminate your problems.
