Clutch Issue

I have been noticing lately that when I go for a long ride my clutch cable seems to lose some pull and I end up having to re-adjust it to take up more slack. When the bike cools back down, I have to back off the cable adjustment several turns to get the correct slack. I replaced the clutch plates with a kit from Tusk and only have about 40hrs or so on the rebuild. Does this sound like worn clutch plates or bad springs?

Sounds possibly like a worn out cable thats stretching after use.

X2 i'd try a new cable.
