View Full Version : Where to buy head gaskets?

i just sent my cylinder to be bored .040 over. ill be getting it back next week sometime, where do you guys get your head gaskets?

ive searched all over the interweb and cant find a .040 head gasket to save my life! any help is greatly appreciated.

You can use any size gasket except the ones made for a 440 kit.

The pistons on these quads do not come totally to the top when in revolution and therefore you can use any size.

The best gaskets to buy are cometic MLF (multi-layered steel) gaskets. You can go on thier site and order an entire kit that comes with the base, head and rocker cover gaskets as well as kits with everything including o-rings and valve seals (EST kit is the name they use)

IMPORTANT: Cometic does make a felt/paper gasket, its trash and cheap. Make sure wherever you get the gasket from its an MLF gasket and if you can see pictures its a black metal looking item that has a rubbery kinda look to it.
