Ride is on sunday, August 14th. Registration starts at 8am, riders meeting at 9am, and first riders out of starting area at 930am. My buddy and I went on this ride last year and it was an awesome time. The trails are only open once a year for this charity event and it consists of a 40+ mile loop through the mountains; a route simular the the Quarry Run for motorcycles. Rules are: Must be registered and insured (home state is ok), wear a helmet, and no alcohol allowed on the trail (after done riding is ok). If these rules are a problem, please stay home!! While this ride has the support of the community in general, their are some very loud critics and they don't need any examples to further their cause of shutting this down.

Ok, I'll get off the soap box now and get to the fun stuff. This ride starts in town and you get escorted out of town to where the trail starts. From there, you can go as fast or a slow as you want. their is no escort. I consider it a gentleman's type ride; if faster people come up behind you, you let them pass at the first opportunity. If you come up on someone slower, you patiently wait till you can safely pass. The trails vary from tight woods to open fields. Up and down moutain trails with some rocks but not nearly as bad as Lost trails; very simular to Majestic. Riding at a medium pace, it took us 5hrs to ride it last year. Camping is allowed the day before at the Fireman's park where the ride starts. The cost is $45 with proceeds going to Hancock charities and includes a cook out style lunch when you get back. Like I said, this was a blast last year eventhough it was POURING rain! Their are some things I'm forgetting but if anyone is interested, search it or I can get answers to questions. I have nothing to do with this ride other that I wouldn't miss it for anything. Just passing along information to fellow riders on one you might wanna put on the calander.

Almost forgot, this is Hancock, NY 13783, right off Rt. 17
