Does anyone know exactly (or very close) a 400ex motor weighs? The whole thing besides like the oil tank and cooler, no pipe, no electrical. just the motor.

I believe that it weight 88 pounds.

A friend of mine weighed his and it came out to 91lbs.

a crf only weighs 65#s, just something to think about.......

that is why i wanted to know. i was comparing how much weight i will be saving with a crf, plus the oil tank and all the battery stuff. but i have to add in for a radiator. all in all i will still be losing atleast 20-30 pounds i think.

a crf doesn't have an oil tank but my 426 does. does anyone no tha wheight of the 426 engine??

i dont know, try looking it up on yahoo, i would guess a little heavier than the crf since the bike on whole is heavier but thats just a guess
