Jeff how big is the difference between a Standard Shock and +1 A-Arms and the LT Shock and +1 A-Arms? I already have Standard Elka's and was thinking about getting some of the new Arens a-arms in +1 when they come out. Do you think I would tell a difference with the +1 arms and 4+1 rims in standard travel or would it be better to just keep the stock a-arms and get LT later on? I know Rick Cecco ran the setup I want on his 465 and Traci has it on her KFX too....

I myself think the ultimate setup would be some +1 Walsh A-Arms, MotoWoz LT Shocks, and Hiper 4+1 Rims.

Yes you will be able to tell some difference going with the +1 arms and your shocks. A longer arm will have more arch to its travel. If you thing you may get LT down the road, then just keep your stock arms untill then.

Well I'm not sure about getting a LT setup because I would loose a lot of money trying to sell my shocks I already bought. I think if I get A-Arms I will just stick to standard travel. Maybe on my next quad I will get LT....

Go with the Laeger ProTrax front end with custom axis shocks. Roll and Lonestar have similar set ups.

Exppensive but you sadi "The Best"

Rico do you have any problems with the +1 arms and stock rims? I want a setup just like your's, but after paying for the a-arms I doubt I will be able to buy rims too. How are the stockers and the a-arms?

02-23-2003, 07:38 AM
they work great warriorman,,,no problems what so ever..

It doesn't seem like +1 wide and +1/2 forward would be a big deal...well it is..I remember my first time out to a MX track with them arms and the works shocks mounted up.. I was really amazed at the change in handleing they made..

warrior man, The +1 houser long travel a-arms are for 16 in. shocks. So why would you have to sell your elka's?

Dave400ex
02-23-2003, 09:18 AM
I was talking about going to the 19" setup. I forgot all about the 16" LT arms Houser made. I will just have to wait and see how the new Arens a-arms are. I think he is making some 16" arms like the Houser's. I will just have to wait and see if not I would go with Houser...

ok ... does anyone have a 19inch setup for plus 1's besides laeger and roll design?
I used to have some regular plus 1 laeger's but the ball joints always hit the springs.

Dave400ex
02-23-2003, 09:24 AM
I think Houser, Herrmann, Walsh, Burgard, and a few more make +1 in 19".

I would recommend the Houser/Elka combo.

I guess houser does have them. I didnt see them listed on housers site.

02-23-2003, 08:30 PM
Yep they have them and they were a lot less than the roll.

Got a question for you guys. What you think about chrome tops for those +1 arms in the pic?

They were on B/O when I had originally ordered them but can get them now for a couple extra bucks and am thinking maybe dont need them but still think the chrome would look better.

So you think its worth sending the pc ones back and getting the chrome ones while I am waiting for the snow to melt?

I think the Chrome tops look trick. I would do it. It looks real good when you get a Chrome Stem...

Since your atv is a "show" bike:D I would recommend you getting the chrome uppers.

BTW... I do think your powder coated upper a-arms look great, there is really no need to get the chrome ones, unless you want all of us to drool.:blah

Note: I found a very noticeable improvement with the plus one a-arms and long travel shocks over the stock a-arms and aftermarket shocks. I compared Lenny's (440ex4me) against my stock a-arms and Elka's... If Lenny's atv wasn't yellow, I would have ran away with his!:D

Thats what I was thinking and the stem is one of the next mods so maybe I will be calling Houser tomorrow.

Well.... Since your atv is a "show" bike I would recommend you getting the chrome uppers. I have to agree :D and we all know that its not where you finish that counts, but how you look doing it :D:macho :blah

If Lenny's atv wasn't yellow, I would have ran away with his! Good thing it aint red then cause I would have never caught you if I was on your machine :D:macho :macho

ill snap some pics of the ULTIMATE setup tonight. The Houser/Axis LT front end.;) :p j/k. But i think the Housers are a great deal. They are well built, look good, and are cheaper then the some others.
