what oil?

i just got my girlfriend a 99 blaster, anybody know what kind of oil it takes? i heard golden spectro 80w... that seemed thick, but it's my first yamaha, and 2 stroke

Just make sure you use a name brand oil, for injection type systems, not pre-mix.

Did ya get the owners manual with it? If ya did it should be in there. If not go to ur local dealer and they can tell you what to run in it.

I use Maxima MTL 80w in my Banshee. Lasts about a weekend before it needs changed.

A Blaster uses 3/4 (.74 to be exact) of a quart of oil.

I personally like Klotz oil.

Well, 1 weekend to me is 3 days in the dunes for about 8 hours a day.....wide open over 3rd gear most of the day too....lol
