anyone know if the yfz450 front brake calipers will work on the 400ex? thought I saw a thread on this but not sure......
Yep they bolt right up.
TBH unless you can find the calipers and pads for cheap i dont feel its worth it. Stainless lines helped greatly for me and I have otherwise a stock brake system. The lines were only like 50 bucks too.

Yes they bolt right up, any year as far as I know.
I noticed a huge difference in braking power with the YFZ's twin piston calipers compared to the 400EX's single piston units. I already had stainless steel brake lines and such before and the braking was good. But just bolting on the YFZ calipers alone, the braking becomes phenomenal. I had to get used to using the brakes again because they became so much more grabby and powerful. I have a full size ASV brake lever and I only have to use one finger on the inside part of the lever to brake now.
I got a brand new set of 2010 YFZ-R takeoffs on ebay for $100 bucks which ain't bad at all. They can be had used in good shape for a lot cheaper as well.
