08 x model?

My buddy has an 08 x model that he turned into an mx. I've been thinking.of buying it off him cause its got pretty low hrs. Was just wondering what people had, if any, problems.with the 08? Or what I should look out for?

do a search.the early models had a few issues from what i have heard.everything from frame problems to bad stators.:(

i bought one of the first 08's and have had only a few minor problems. i got all the recals done right away so no down time. the coolant tank got replaced and upgraded clutch. ive been riding it hard for the last 4 years and havent had any problems. jus gotta change oil reguarly, adjust valves, and lube pivots. have bent 1 axle tho. the olny mods ive done is full exhaust, power commander, and few hours dyno tuning.

We've had a bunch of 08's. If you do the clutch update your golden! regular maintenance goes a long way

Haha alright thanks! What's the clutch update and what kinda oil do u recommend? N I can already tell this things gonna get hot when I race so I'm ordering a Bcs cooler. What kinda coolant? Any other ds specific maintenance?

I use Rotella oil and i havent had any problems, and for coolant most people with DS's use Engine Ice

What about bel-ray thumper. I have a ton of that stuff left from my Honda.

Never used it but on DS450hq.com i know some people that use it and dont have problems

I have a 2008 ds 450x!! my quad has over 3000 miles of desert,glamis,trail,etc!! only issue,bad fan relay!!! I have a long travel front end with +2 axle!!! love this quad!!
