I am waiting on some fullbores for an 87 and want to get my seat cover and foam installed now. I have the 87 pan as well as an 88-89 pan that has had the rear post removed and all of the 87 style mounting hardware. I think I remember reading something about how the seat and tank area will match up differently with different series pans but I cannot find that info any more. Will one match up a little better then the other on an 1987 with full bores or are they the same? Both pans are good so I can use whatever is best if there really is a differance in how they match up.
Please let me know what you guys have found with yours.
Thanks

Did I just dream this up? Is there any difference in fit? I know a lot of you have mixed and matched these over the years so did you notice anything?
Which one would you use?
Thanks

I prefer the 86-87 pan with the 88-89 foam. The bottom brackets are steel on a 86-87 model, and molded on the 88-89 models. The foam on the 88-89 is more ergonomically sound for my applications. Just my $0.02.

Thanks Dan. Yep 88-89 foam and a new cover are going on it. I guess I dreamed up the fitment issues but I am glad that I did. I swear I read in a thread on here about how the seat matches up to the tank or something. Oh well I guess that stuff just comes with age.
Thanks again.

They were talking about the fitment on their Roll Lobo chassis. Dtowndiesel cut some of his seat pan and foam off to get the seat to sit down nicely behind the tank.

Yea, that's what I was thinking of (I think):)

Strange. Lobo or stock or whatever different is different. Maybe in that thread it was just a lobo thing and not a 86-87 to 88-89 fitting different on it thing but geez I swear that I remember that being said somewhere.......
I guess I will just go with the 87 pan on this stock frame 87 with the new fullbores but the thought of this issue that I think that I read about is eating me up.
Thanks for the help guys.
