With an 11:1 piston and stage 2 hotcam can you guys tell me if this break in is alright? I was thinking about putting 10w 30 in for an easy 2 hour ride no more than half throttle, hardly no idling. Changing oil and filter once cooled then putting 10w 40 in it and running it no more than 3/4 throttle for 4 hours. Then after that ripping on it. Is that a good break in?
This is a highly debated subject, so you're going to get alot of different opinions. Personally I always ran fresh rebuilds through one heat cycle in the garage, then rode it like it's going to be rode. I've broken several rebuilds in at the races, and had good luck with all of them.

whats your deffinition of a heat cycle?
Bringing it up to operating temps to make sure nothing is going to fly off of it.

So just let it warm and make sure all the bells and whistles are together and stuff, then go out and just rip on it?

ive had good luck with the mx track style riding break in suggested above after checking everything over on start up. i usually go 5-6 cool downs though just to make sure it is broke in well. I vary the rpms and make sure it gets ridden high in the rpms.
just my thoughts on a topic that is very opinionated.

Let it warm up, check the oil and go and rip it. Never had an issue.
