Can u put an 06+ motor in an 05? Just change out the motor mounts or is there a difference in the wiring too?

it will work, you just cant use the upper motor mount and you have to change the wiring harness and cdi

I'm about to start building an 04 frame with an 06 motor as a project to be completed sometime next year as a backup/practice quad. I'm going to be taking some measurements and get some general pics and information written down to potentially make a guide for doing it. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Its not difficult and you can use all the motor mounts including the top one. I ran an 07 motor in an 04 frame for 2 years. Obviously the electrical is different but other than that i used the 07 mounts and have to cut my own aluminum spacers
