Stumbling

I have a 2007 400EX that I bought as a leftover 2 years ago. It is not even completely broken in yet. Today I was riding for the first time for an extended period. Pry 2 hours. Right when I was going to put it away it started stumbling bad. It runs good in 1st gear then as soon as you shift into second it stumbles, shift into 3rd it stalls. Any ideas?

Could be a dirty carb, clean it.

Could also be your almost out of gas, fill up the tank and see what happens.

If it's been siting around for a while it could be bad gas like CJM said. We had bad gas in our boat and everytime we would but it in forward or reverse it would start stumbling.

I use Sta-Bil every time I fill up my gas can, just in case I don't ride for a while. Sounds to me like you were just low on fuel as stated earlier.
