Well I just installed a kicker on my 06 ER but can't seem to find the plastic kick lever panel that inserts into the rear fender. Does anyone know where I can get one without having to order all new rear fenders?

From somebody who ditched their kickstart plastics for a new set. You can't order that piece from Honda and I am not aware of any 3rd party company that has it. I too converted about 6 months ago and went through this.

you can't buy just that one piece from honda. I cut a notch out of my stock one.

I did this too...until a crash rendered my rear plastic worthless. :(

You can notch the plastic just in front of a clip/mount where the plastic comes together. It will still keep some strength/integrity together. I cannot remember exactly what it looks like, but you can do it without ruining the plastics. I've done it.

I put together my own kit from used parts off eBay, I think I have around 300 in it. eBay has complete kits for around 500. My bike is practically mint, I didn't want to cut the plastic .... Just kinda hoping someone knew where to buy a new insert

you have to call MAIER, and talk to them on the phone. i have bought just the insert from them, i think it was like 30 bucks plus shipping. it will fit the oem fenders with a little work. they dont list it on their website, so you have to call

Just kinda hoping someone knew where to buy a new insert did you bump up the starting compression? I have my starting compression set at around 68psi, and have no issues starting with the kick or the button, if you have the compression to low it is much harder to get a good kick out of it... at 55-60 psi it seamed i was kicking and no real good crisp felling,...

for my plastic insert it took me about a month of constant asking to find one,

also the 04/05 kicker doesnt really tuck in nice and tight, if you can find the +06 kicker it is much cleaner looking and tighter to the indent in the plastic

I haven't touched the compassion setting yet but it seems to fire up fairly easily. I had to file the 05 lever a little to help it clear the clutch cover. I'm so fed up with the starter clutch I left the stripped one in, I've tried everything and could never get it to work right.

What exactly do you have to do to make it work?

I got a maier one for my conversion. All you have to do is remove the old panel that is held in with plastic studs and clips, use the existing holes to bolt the maier one in its place with screws and nuts. The maier unit does not have the slot cut in it for the flap on the opposite side if the fenders to slip into. You will have to mock this up and cut your own. Use the existing grommet out of the old Honda panel you removed and cut the hole in the maier panel so this grommet fits. Put seat on, ride and enjoy.
