what year yzf parts swap out? talking about the 400 and 426, i think the key for the flywheels have a few different sizes through out the years. but im not 100% sure.

I have parts from a 99 or 98 Yz 400 and was looking at building/ buying a motor just wanted to get something that would be able to sue the parts i have left over.

Although I'm not sure exactly but I think you can take 426 head and cylinder and put it on the 400 bottom end

there's a couple people with yzf motor's for sale on here

yeah i know you could swap the head and cylinder and i think you can put a 450 cyl and head on them also. I'm not sure about the cranks and trans. cause i have a good crank and trans in a gallon bag with a *** load of oil in it and then shrink wrapped so it doesnt rip...

cant put the 450 anything on the 426 they moved the bolts ect. some of the gears and misc parts will fit but the cyl is longer and the head is shorter, timming chain has different pitch. the 400 and 426 are almost identical. in 02 they made the crank not have the keyway for the drive gear it became splined. and in 2000 the clutch became bigger wich you can convert with the 426 clutch case and the head didnt have hotstart nipple anymore was built into carb. you cant put a 426 piston and cyl on a 400 crank wrist pin changed have to do it all. i have a bunch of parts cheap if you need anything 400-426 and 450
