i met a guy on craigslist that wants to trade his cutis sparks exhaust for my hmf because he wants a more quiter exhaust. i know the curtis sparks pipes cost more, are they better? or should i just stick with my hmf?

Sparks are definitely louder. They sound more like a honda 450r... deep grunt, hi comp piston sound. Will it make a big difference? Probably not enough to dwell over.

I run Sparks because I love the sound. If his is in great shape, why not try something different. I haven't compared the two on a dyno to say the Sparks adds/loses a hp... Find out how long it's been since it was repacked, that may add $30 or so if you have to do it.

id say the hmf and sparks are about equally as loud from bikes that i have heard, unless you have one of the newest styles hmf, they are quieter, for power, probably also be close, id rather have a sparks though

i run HMF but I think Sparks makes a better pipe- puts out more power.

however, him wanting to trade because of sound would make me questions his motives...
