My daughter decided she wanted to race mx again. She has a 08 Drr 90. She has hit a heck of a growth spurt. She is about 5ft 160lbs and is 11yrs old. She bent the stock swinger (round tube). My question is should I buy her some long travel suspension or should we get her a different quad? How long can she ride the drr. She wont be running any nationals just local tracks. At least for now. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with ama rules but when can she move up age wise? I'm in the same boat with my son. He is 7 just over 4'6" tall and tips the scales at 130lbs. We just trail ride and do dirt drags. Was talking to some builder about building a big motor for his apex and one put it to me this way." He has out grown the 90 and needs to move up to a bigger bike. I'll build you a motor for you to only get a season on then you'll be looking for a new bike again. "
So I guess its time to stop dumping money into the apex and start teaching him how to shift. Going to start looking for a blaster to build for him. I like the 2smokes. What can I say. That's just how I grew up. lol
btw I just finished welding the frame back together today. Broke right in front of the gusset under the seat. Putting a fresh top end on it and making the rest of the season.

i would put a square tube swinger on it,,, or if you can find a good deal on a long travel set up,,, just remember what you put in these bikes you wont get back out of them,,, im trying to sell a 09 drr rolling chasses with elkas and a durablue axle all it needs is a motor for 1500, and no one wants it,, i think 11 years old is a good starting age for a shifter,, but see what class she can run in in your district, take care tommy
