440ex questions

ok so i have a 01 400ex and its tore down and cant decide what to do with it what are some major problems with the 440? if i put a fan on it will it still run hot?

wrong section on this post-
440- the lower section of the cylinder skirt in thin and has a tendency to break apart and trash ur lower end, will run alil hotter. Whats ur purpose to add the 440? just to say its a 440-whoopty doo. If its power and reliability ur wanting-spend the money and have it "short stroked", that way u can run a standard piston, utilizing multiple bore sizes and have incredible amount of power.JMO- been there done that w/ 400ex's, owned them since 1999 to current but also have my trx450's. I've probably spent over $25-30k on my 4-400ex's and a stroked 400 is the only way to go- if ur not planning on keeping it-them waste the $300+ for the 440 kit.
