Will the xr400 trans work or fit in a 400ex bottom end ?

Also does anyone know what the ratio is on the 400ex vs the xr400 ?

I would think the xr400 trans would be more of a top end- long gear tran over the 400ex that would seem to be a more bottom end short gear , but that just what im thinking..... can any one shine in on this ?

Top ends are basically the same, bottom ends are not.

The entire gear set is different and I don't believe they will work in an EX case.
