Do you want more torque or higher top speed?

If your machine is pretty much all stock (motor wise) then you benefit from 14T front and 38T rear. This will give it more torque but cut down on your speed in 1st-3rd to a degree. Pretty good for racing in the woods.

going up in size on the front sprocket= speed, going down= torque. Going up in size on rear sprocket is torque, going down is speed. Raising/lowering 1 tooth on the front sprocket is equal to going up/down 3 teeth in the rear.

i might go with 14/38 that sounds pretty good, what is the difference between an X-ring chain and O-ring chain?does renthal make a X-ring chain?

X-ring is the way it seals, it seals better apparently, instead of an O like seal its an X. O-ring is just that an O ring.

Me, Id spend the coin on X-ring. I prefer did 520 X-ring, I run in sand and keep it lubed with teflon based chain lube and no issues. Renthals fine as well, might be more spendy.

I got my entire set of chain, sprockets thru motosport.com. I went with steel sprockets for longevity and toughness over aluminum.
