Im looking at getting a streetbike for driving to and from college about once or twice a month to see the girlfriend. Its a 200 mile drive but i guess the real question would be between a 600 and 1000cc bike. I've never had a bike but I feel like i pick up on stuff really fast when it comes to motorsports. I feel like the 1000 would be better for cruising just because it wouldnt have to work as hard. Price would have to be 3-4.5k though. Either that or get a GTP motor for my grandprix gt and just deal with that because the motor/trans is getting a little to used up.

depends on what you are actually looking for. A 600 will run interstate speeds so that's not gonna be an issue.

I would actually sugest a shadow 750. They sold a ton of them around 2000 to 2003, you can pick them up for under 3 grand easy and that water cooled motor will run for ever. Down side is, although they will cruise at 80mph, they do fill a little week getting there.

If you're looking at $3 ~ $4k, you're not looking for a mid 80s bike. The newer 600s will accelerate upwards of 100mph faster than a corvette, you're not going to be stressing a 600 cruising at any normal speeds, and you'll still have plenty left on tap to accelerate and pass other vehicles.

look for a honda F4i
Kawi 636 03-04 05-06 are weird and dont care for the power much...

Older GSXR like a 02-03 ugly but nice bike but really a honda cbr600 or F4i would be nice and can be picked up cheap!
